The company was incorporated on 18 June, 1991 as a Public Limited Company under the Companies Ordinance, 1984 under the name and style of Amjad Textile Mills Limited .

The state of the art spinning mill with 17,280 spindles is set in the midst of a vast acreage of cotton production near Multan, a city in Punjab province. The installation of machinery was completed in November 1992. Amjad Textile Mills Limited went into commercial production on 1st October 1993.
